Given at the WP Meetup Vienna in January 2026. The full write-up, including the setup script and the AI-assisted configuration workflow, is on the blog: WordPress Automation in 2026: Practical Workflows with WP-CLI and AI.
The talk starts with a question I ask every audience: who here still sets up WordPress by hand? Most hands go up. It then walks through why that stops scaling, the moment WP-CLI turned setup into a repeatable set of commands, why so many developers still avoid the terminal, and where AI actually helps in that workflow: generating tailored configurations, not replacing the person who understands them.
- From manual setup to one reproducible script
- WP-CLI basics that cover 80 percent of daily tasks
- Using AI to generate project-specific config, and where it gets things wrong
